Want A Kitten? Choose A Bengal For You And Your Family

If you would like to purchase a kitten for you and your family, one breed you should consider is the Bengal kitten. Keep reading to learn more about this breed to help you make the best decision on if you should purchase a Bengal.

Their Temperament

A Bengal cat looks like a wild leopard due to the coloring of its coat but do not let this fool you. This breed is known to be very tender, sweet, and soft with their family and other people. Even though your cat will love everyone in the family, they may choose a favorite who they will spend more time with. If you have a dog in your home your Bengal will likely get along with them if they are brought into the home the correct way

Bengal cats can be vocal even though you will not hear them meow constantly throughout the day. If you leave your cat home alone all day and come home, you will have a nice vocal greeting from your cat in most cases. This is not only telling you they do not like to be alone but also that they are glad you are home.

Their Living Needs

A Bengal cat can live in an apartment, a home, a trailer, etc. if they are near their family, they are happy. You do have to ensure your Bengal has toys in your home to help keep them busy as well as have areas where they can climb. To do this, you should purchase a cat tree for your kitty. Purchase a large tree as this cat does get a little larger than standard cats. Purchase more than one cat tree if you have a large home.

If you work full-time outside of the home, you may want to consider purchasing two Bengal kittens. Your cat will be much happier having another cat home with them if they must be alone for long periods of time.

Their Care

Taking care of a Bengal is not difficult especially if you get your Bengal as a kitten. When you bring your kitten home introduce them to all family members and let them run around your home investigating. Because Bengals are larger, purchase a leash for them and take them for a walk outside. There are leashes that have a harness that works well for cats. These cats are intelligent so purchase them plenty of cat toys. After a few weeks rotate the toys with new ones so your cat will not get bored with them.

Brush your Bengal weekly to keep their fur in good condition. Bengals also like water so you can give them a bath occasionally. Talk to a veterinarian about how to properly care for their nails, ears, and teeth.
